Kim Kardashian's future ex-husband is on the verge of gainful employment!
Kris Humphries is set to re-sign with the New Jersey Nets for a one-year deal of $7 to $8 million, NBA sources confirmed to the New York Post on Tuesday. He is expected to rejoin his old team as early as Wednesday night in a preseason game with the New York Knicks.
The 6-foot-9 basketball star, 26, had been out of a job for months due to the recently resolved NBA lockout, and his jobless days coincided with his ill-fated marriage to Kardashian, 31, which lasted just 72 days before she filed for divorce Oct. 31.
Earlier this month, Humphries countered Kardashian's divorce papers by filing for annulment, claiming their much-publicized union was a "fraud."
In the interim before his re-signing, Humphries also landed an endorsement deal with Sector watches said to be worth about $150,000.
"Through everything I've just focused on family and preparing for basketball," he said on a Dec. 9 appearance on Good Morning America. "Basketball is something I take really seriously and I continue to do that. You know, I'm just moving forward."
