Taylor Swift is painting the town Red!
The 22-year-old singer’s new album, Red, was released at midnight on Monday and has already earned a top spot on the iTunes chart within 12 hours.
The album is No. 1 on the U.S. country albums chart. Swift’s single “State of Grace” and track “I Knew You Were Trouble” are in No. 1 and No. 2 on the songs chart.
On Sunday, Swift tweeted, “Tomorrow we start to . . . ” and attached a photo of a pumpkin with the carving, “Paint the town red.”
The singer appeared on Good Morning America Monday to promote her fourth album, which features more breakup hits. Swift explained to GMA, “For me, music is my way of understanding what I’m feeling.”
But when asked whether a current song about her love life would be happy or sad, the singer avoided the question.
“I don’t really talk about my love life,” Swift, who is currently dating Conor Kennedy, 18, said. “I kind of sing about it a lot because I really think that it sounds more poetic and romantic about it with music behind it.”

And she hopes fans like it.
“I would love to have this album be something that really I’m proud of and put together the tour and have it be a show that’s worth people paying their money and spending the evening with us to see it,” Swift shared. “I want to make this show better than anything we’ve done before.”
