Gnarly! Madonna gave a shout-out to her first ex-husband Sean Penn via Instagram on Monday, Aug. 18. The Material Girl posted a hilarious picture of her 14-year-old son Rocco channeling Penn’s memorable Jeff Spicoli character from the 1982 hit Fast Times at Ridgemont High.
“Jeff Spicoli is alive and well in the South of France! #boom #fuzzy,” the 56-year-old captioned. In the hilarious picture, Rocco is rocking blonde waves and is exposing his stomach in a Hawaiian shirt like Spicoli himself. (No pizza, however, was involved in the snapshot.)
Penn starred in the raunchy teen comedy about California teenagers at age 22. He played a surfer student who often smoked marijuana and interacted with his teacher, Mr. Hand. Despite being the film’s comedic relief, Fast Times also produced one of the most memorable scenes in film history when Linda Barrett (Phoebe Cates) turned heads emerging (slo-mo!) from a pool in a red bikini.
Madonna and Penn were famously married from 1985 to 1989, but have maintained a friendly relationship in recent years. Back in March, Penn attended the singer’s Oscars afterparty in L.A. and was even spotted making out with girlfriend Charlize Theron. Madonna and Rocco also supported Penn’s charity relief organization in Haiti last November.
Madonna shares son Rocco with her second ex-husband, British film director Guy Ritchie. The couple split in 2008 after eight years of marriage. They also are parents to son David, 8.
