Looks like there are still some things guys can teach us after all!
GQ‘s Men of the Year, including studs Chris Pratt, Ansel Elgort, and Michael Sam, suited up for the mag’s annual end-of-the-year event on Thursday, Dec. 4—but they weren’t the only ones.
The monthly’s Crush of the Year Shailene Woodley, as well as guests Shay Mitchell and Rose McGowan, borrowed from the boys in tux-inspired ensembles on the red carpet.
It seemed that Woodley, 23, who is no stranger to a good pantsuit, took her sartorial cues from her GQ cover shoot, for which she modeled a chic blazer over an LBD. On the carpet, however, she ditched the dress in favor of black pants in the same crushed velvet as her top (with Ruthie Davis heels).
Likewise, Mitchell and McGowan also channeled the event’s most dapper gents. Mitchell, 27, chose a plunging, structured blazer-dress, a look she accessorized with a shimmering clutch and peep-toe heels for the occasion. (Inside, the Pretty Little Liars actress found fellow star Ashley Benson, who mugged it up with her friend for Instagram.)
Nearby, McGowan, 41, sported a wide-lapeled white suit. “@GQ baby bespoke,” McGowan captioned an Insta shot of her custom outfit, which she teamed with black wedge sneaks.
While these ladies are the most recent examples, they certainly aren’t the only ones working the trend. In October, Jennifer Lawrence rocked a Dior tux-dress to the Serena premiere, while Gwyneth Paltrow donned a sleek and chic Tom Ford pantsuit at the amfAR Gala.
