Cheers to the ACM Awards!
Dierks Bentley has partied with country music’s best of the best. The “Say You Do” singer, who has seven nominations at the 50th Annual ACM Awards, tells Us about getting tipsy with other nominees including Miranda Lambert, Luke Bryan, and Kenny Chesney. Check out some of his funniest stories below!
Miranda Lambert
Bentley didn’t waste time getting wasted with the “Little Red Wagon” singer, 31, at her 2011 Boerne, Texas, nuptials to Blake Shelton, 38. “We stopped at a bar in the woods on the way,” he jokes. “Can’t recall how it ended — the sign of a good wedding!”
Kenny Chesney
The “Drunk on a Plane” singer celebrated New Year’s Eve 2005 at Chesney’s St. John Estate and it was one for the books. Bentley called it quits after a midnight swim — and woke in the a.m. to find “Kenny still going strong!”
Luke Bryan
Details of bar crawls with Bryan, 38, on their 2008 tour are fuzzy. But one night, “we were swinging from the rafters at a honky-tonk,” says Bentley. “Like in Sia’s ‘Chandelier’!”
Florida Georgia Line
Bentley paid the price for bowling under the influence in Phoenix on Super Bowl XLIX weekend. He and the country duo’s Brian Kelley, 29, lost a $200 bet when Tyler Hubbard, 28, beat them both!
Bentley last partied with the newlywed singer at Bentley’s bar, Whiskey Row, in Scottsdale, Ariz., for the 2015 Super Bowl, which the “Just Gettin’ Started” singer attended with his now-wife, Brittany Kerr. “We had a lot of good drinking stories from the past, but I wouldn’t remember them,” Bentley said. “We did a lot of Jagerbombs back then!”
Eric Church
The country star last grabbed beers with Church at a little bar. “I don’t know if I have any wild and crazy stories with Eric,” Bentley, father of Evelyn, 6, Jordan, 4, and Knox, 17 months, said. “Our conversations are mostly ‘How are the kids doing?’”
Little Big Town
The last time Bentley partied with the Little Big Town members was at the 2009 ACMs. “At the hotel, we were up on the tables popping champagne and dancing,” he recalls. “The next day on the carpet I asked Phillip Sweet what they did the night before and he was like, ‘Dude are you kidding me? We partied with you until 3 a.m.”
