Business as usual. Tom Cruise continued filming for his upcoming action flick, Jack Reacher, in New Orleans on Thursday, Oct. 29, just ahead of Leah Remini’s exclusive tell all 20/20 interview on Friday, Oct. 30.
The 53-year-old actor looked focused on his role as a harried homicide investigator, wearing a grim expression for the part.
Cruise has yet to speak out about Remini’s interview, which included several anecdotes about Cruise in relation to the King of Queens actress’ 30 years with the Church of Scientology.
Remini, 45, didn’t hold back when she opened up about Cruise’s overwhelming presence within the organization (“being critical of Tom Cruise is being critical of Scientology itself,” she said), citing his 2006 nuptials to ex-wife Katie Holmes as turning point in her relationship with the religion.
The actress noted that she found it disturbing that the head of the church, David Miscavige, attended the event without his wife, Shelly, and was bothered by the fact that Cruise treated her close friend Jennifer Lopez and Lopez’s then-beau Marc Anthony oddly at the ceremony.
Though she filed a knowledge report (a document explaining the grievances of other member’s bad behavior), Remini was reprimanded for her actions.
In a letter allegedly written by Holmes, however, The Kennedys star reportedly filed a complaint about Remini following the wedding as well.
“I was dismayed at the behavior of Leah Remini during the events leading put to our wedding and our wedding,” the letter read. “The behavior as a guest, a friend, was very upsetting.”
As Us Weekly previously reported, Holmes has not commented on whether or not she wrote the letter, but did release a statement on Friday addressing Remini’s words.
“I regret having upset Leah in the past and wish her only the best in the future,” the statement read.
She did not appear as part of Remini’s 20/20 special.
