We could have used these fluff balls during the first presidential debate. The Late Show With Stephen Colbert is getting in on the vice-presidential debate between Virginia Senator Tim Kaine and former Indiana Governor Mike Pence on Tuesday, October 4, by live-streaming an “all-kitten focus group” on Facebook, the show announced on Twitter Tuesday afternoon.
“People don’t know much about the VP candidates,” Colbert’s teaser video for the stream reads. “But nobody knows less … than these 10 kittens.”
In the adorable clip, 10 furry little kittens play and romp around together.
“They debate,” the video concludes. “Kittens decide.”
The Late Show With Steven Colbert will stream the kittens alongside the debate, held at Longwood University in Farmville, Virginia, beginning at 9 p.m. ET. (As noted on the show’s Facebook page, the kittens are available for adoption through North Shore Animal League America.)
Us Weekly will also be live-streaming and blogging the political event, which comes after presidential candidates Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton sounded off against each other in the first 2016 presidential debate last week.
CBS News’ Elaine Quijano was announced as the VP debate moderator on September 2. According to Cosmopolitan, Quijano, who is Filipino, is the first Asian-American journalist to moderate a national debate.
Watch the adorable teaser video above and stick with Us Weekly this evening for complete coverage of the VP debate.
