Mommy and me! Beyoncé and daughter Blue Ivy glitzed up the red carpet at the MTV Video Music Awards 2016 at Madison Square Garden in NYC on Sunday, August 28.
The “Formation” singer, 34, and Blue, 4, coordinated in sparkly ensembles. Beyoncé made a statement in a semisheer, formfitting gown that featured a head-turning, winglike feather collar. The “Sorry” singer, who will perform at the awards show, was also dripping in more than $12 million worth of Lorraine Schwartz diamonds and emeralds, including a 12-carat pink diamond ring and jaw-dropping dangling earrings.
Blue took a cue from her mother in a sequin rose gold dress with a voluminous high-low skirt paired with matching Giuseppe Zanotti Junior kicks. She also added extra flair in her braided hair with a princess-worthy bejeweled headpiece.
This isn’t the first time the pair have gone out in matching outfits. The Dreamgirls actress — who shares Blue with her husband of eight years, Jay Z — and Blue have a history of wearing similar on and off the red carpet. In July, the pair played dress-up in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris wearing the same floral print Gucci dress.
It’s no surprise that the tot is attending the awards show with her mother, as earlier this year, she made a cameo in one of Bey’s music videos. Blue danced around with other children in Beyonce’s much-talked-about “Formation” footage, while wearing a lacy white dress. “Formation” is nominated for the six total VMAs, including the Video of the Year award.
