If you’ve ever had a hard time telling Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen apart, get ready to send a thank-you to the latter’s colorist. Ashley just debuted platinum hair that finally makes it easy to differentiate the beloved twins.
Ashley, 30, unveiled the bright-blonde hue at the launch of her and her sister’s Elizabeth and James L.A. flagship at The Grove on Tuesday, July 26, at the Chateau Marmont. (The duo also design the award-winning upscale line the Row.) Ashley modeled her tresses styled into loose waves by Mark Townsend, plus a porcelain complexion accented by lined eyes. She bundled up in an ivory coat and accessorized with a small suede purse.

Meanwhile, her twin, Mary-Kate, modeled her usual caramel-blonde shade — still light, though not nearly as eye-popping as her sister’s blonde. She also rocked a tan, making it even easier to tell her apart from her equally stylish sister. Mary-Kate donned a black silk dress, a black coat and ankle-strap sandals.

The former Full House stars were joined at the fete by their line’s many fans, including Alison Brie, Christina Hendricks, Lucy Hale and Keke Palmer. The twins’ younger sister, Elizabeth Olsen — one half of the inspiration behind the collection’s name — also came out to celebrate.
Mary-Kate and Ashley have devoted themselves to fashion full-time since their early 20s. That said, there’s at least one person who would love for them to dip a toe back into the acting pool: their Full House costar Candace Cameron Bure. “It would be great if they did, but I think the fans can see, too, that the show is so full already,” said the View cohost, who played their older, onscreen sister D.J. “We would love for them to join, but we have a lot to do even if they don’t.”
