Blame it on the pregnancy brain! Emily Blunt said she forgets she’s even pregnant with her second child and opened up about juggling her blockbuster movies with family time in a new interview with C magazine.
“The first pregnancy is the most self-indulgent thing in the world because you get massages and prenatal yoga and hypnotherapy CDs,” the 33-year-old actress told the magazine of her previous pregnancy, with daughter Hazel, 2. “During this one I forget that I’m even pregnant. I’m hoisting my 2-year-old around!”
The Huntsman: Winter’s War star, who shares Hazel with husband John Krasinski, revealed that her Girl on the Train costar Justin Theroux was one of the first people she confided in this time around. “[Filming The Girl on the Train] was actually more physical than I realized, which worried me a little, but I wasn’t telling anyone until a little later on,” Blunt said. “I told a couple of people like Justin Theroux pretty early because he and I were doing some of the physical stuff together. He’s my friend, and I think he knew anyway — you know how friends just have a feeling.”
Although the pregnancy may be easier, the Brit says it becomes tougher to balance work and family as the kids grow up. “It’s quite a juggle with children, especially young children who are now able to vocalize, ‘please don’t go.’ I don’t want to feel torn,” she said.
Nevertheless, she says it’s reassuring that her husband, 36, is also part of the Hollywood world. “It’s like [having] an immediate, deeper understanding of what each other is going through” Blunt told C magazine. The couple has never worked together on a project, but it’s something the very private actress would consider: “I think we would prefer it to be something where we’re not married or boyfriend and girlfriend. Our chemistry is not up for public consumption,” she said.
