New hopes for a new year. Kristin Cavallari shared an Instagram post on Friday, January 1, writing that she’s “hoping for no extreme highs and lows” after her brother’s death last month.
“Last night was the second time I've put makeup on in over 5 weeks and left the house,” the Laguna Beach alum, 28, captioned a photograph of her and NFL star husband Jay Cutler. “Even though I shed a few tears, it was a really nice night and felt good to be out. 2015 brought my sweet, baby girl but it also took my brother's life. Hoping for no extreme highs and lows this year. Happy new year, everyone.”
Cavallari’s brother, Michael Cavallari, was found dead on December 10, after he was reported missing.
“My heart is in a million pieces,” she wrote on Instagram. "Mikey, I could always count on you to make me laugh. You had such a good heart and will be forever missed. I'm at a loss for words but I know u are in a better place and finally at peace. I love u so much RIP."
Michael, who was only 30 years old, was last seen the day after Thanksgiving, on Friday, November 27. His abandoned Honda Civic was found on a highway in Utah. The cause of death is still under investigation, though Grand Country Sheriff Steven White told Us Weekly last month that authorities believe cold temperatures were a “contributing factor.”
The reality star welcomed her first daughter with Cutler, Saylor, in November. The couple also has two sons — Camden, 2, and Jaxon, 18 months.
