Chelsea Clinton's husband-to-be already has one big fan in his corner: His fiancee's father, former President Bill Clinton.
"He's a great human being," Clinton, 63, told the New York Daily News of his future son-in-law, banker Marc Mezvinsky, 31, who popped the question over the Thanksgiving holiday.
How excited is the former prez to walk his only daughter down the aisle? "Very," he tells the Daily News.
Clinton and Mezvinsky announced their engagement via an email to friends on Nov. 27.
It read: "We're sorry for the mass email but we wanted to wish everyone a belated Happy Thanksgiving! We also wanted to share that we are engaged! We didn't get married this past summer despite the stories to the contrary, but we are looking toward next summer and hope you all will be there to celebrate with us. Happy Holidays! Chelsea & Marc."
Clinton, 29, and Mezvinsky — the son of former Rep. Ed Mezvinsky, D-Iowa, and former Rep. Marjorie Margolies-Mezvinksy, D-Penn. — have been close since their teens when their parents worked in D.C.
The bride-to-be is currently a student at Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health in New York City.
