Born in Arkansas in 1990, Jana Marie Duggar is the second child and first daughter of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar. (Her twin brother, John-David, arrived shortly after her.) The Growing Up Duggar coauthor is best known for her time on TLC’s 19 Kids and Counting. She also appeared on Counting On, which documented the lives of her younger sisters Jessa and Jill Duggar.
The former reality star, who is single, lives at home with her parents and her younger siblings. She loves to garden, as documented on her social media accounts, and has also taken up home remodeling. In 2020, she took on the project of remodeling her parents’ bedroom.
Jana made headlines in December 2021 when news broke that she was charged with endangering the welfare of a minor three months prior. The former TLC personality, who pleaded not guilty, described the incident as an accident.
“I was babysitting a few months ago when one of the children wandered outside alone. A passerby who saw the child called the police. This resulted in a written citation, as well as a follow-up with child welfare who concluded that it was an accident and the child was unharmed,” she wrote via Instagram at the time. “They recognized it was a case of a child slipping out of the house when you turn your back for a moment. It all happened so quickly and was scary.”
News of Jana’s case broke one day after her elder brother, Josh Duggar, was convicted of receiving and possessing child pornography following his April 2021 arrest.
