Biography:
Penelope Cruz Sanchez was born in Madrid, Spain, to working-class parents.
Cruz’s acting chops and exotic beauty have taken her from award-winning roles in Spain to high-profile performances in the U.S. opposite the likes of Matt Damon, Tom Cruise, and Matthew McConaughey.
Cruz famously dated both Cruise and McConaughey, who costarred with the actress in the films Vanilla Sky and Sahara, respectively.
For her role in the 2006 film Volver, Cruz earned a Best Actress Golden Globe nomination.

Cruz wed her boyfriend of three years, Javier Bardem, in an intimate ceremony in the Bahamas in July 2010. The couple announced they are expecting their first child two months later.
