Rachel Roy
Born on January 15, 1974, in San Bernardino County, California, Rachel Roy rose to fame in the fashion world when she launched her eponymous line in 2004.
Previously, the fashion designer interned at the fashion label Rocawear, where she eventually made her way to the top and became the creative director of womenswear.
Roy married Rocawear cofounder Damon Dash in 2005, and the two share daughters Tallulah and Ava. In 2009, Roy and Dash divorced.
Roy was the subject of rumors involving Rocawear cofounder Jay Z after Beyoncé‘s Lemonade release in 2016. In the song “Sorry,” Beyoncé sings about “Becky with the good hair,” which some fans interpreted to be about Roy.
