"It’s a personal decision, but I’m just putting it out there: Consider leaving your vagina fully dressed, ladies," wrote Cameron Diaz, author of The Body Book.

The Body Book is out — and author Cameron Diaz did not hesitate to bare her thoughts on a range of bodily topics, including laser hair removal, which she called a "crazy idea."

"I hear that there's a big fad these days of young women undergoing laser hair removal on all of their lady bits," wrote The Counselor star, 41. Diaz dedicated an entire chapter, titled "In Praise of Pubes," of her holistic, long-term health guide book to encourage women to embrace their natural "pretty draping."

"It’s a personal decision, but I’m just putting it out there: Consider leaving your vagina fully dressed, ladies," the blonde actress wrote. "Let’s be honest: Just like every other part of your body, your labia major is not immune to gravity."

"I know you may think you'll be wearing the same style of shoes forever and the same style of jeans forever, but you won't," she explained. "The idea that vaginas are preferable in a hairless state is a pretty recent phenomenon. All fads change, people."

The author also candidly discussed her painful struggle with acne and how she overcame the particularly painful phase of her beauty life. "I mean, I had terrible, terrible, skin," she confessed. "It was embarrassing, and I did everything I could think of to make it go away. I tried to cover it with makeup. I tried to get rid of it with medication: oral, topical, even the harshest prescriptions. Nothing helped for very long."

"Looking back, I realize that I hadn’t needed those prescription drugs, those vials of potions and creams," Diaz wrote. "I hadn’t needed to be angry at my skin or feel bad about myself. I had just needed to LISTEN TO MY BODY."

Staying true to her own advice, the actress has been keeping her life healthy and happy. On Friday, Jan. 3, the star went for a morning hike with photographer Amanda de Cadenet: "#startingthemorningright #girltime #goodconversation," wrote the new Twitter user, along with a barefaced photo of herself, wearing plaid, about to embark on an outdoor adventure.
