Sweet siblings! Jessica Simpson shared the first photo of her newborn daughter, Birdie, meeting her brother and sister on Wednesday, March 20.
“Birdie Mae Johnson. 3.19.19. 10 Pounds 13 Ounces,” the singer, 38, captioned the Instagram pic.
In the black-and-white family photo, Maxwell, 6, and Ace, 5, looked down at their infant sister in the hospital. Maxwell held her hand.
Simpson and her husband, Eric Johnson, welcomed their baby girl on Tuesday, March 19, her rep confirmed to Us Weekly. The pair announced that they were expecting in September 2018.
“SURPRISE…” the Dukes of Hazzard star captioned a pic of her two kids holding black balloons. In a second post, the children were surrounded by pink ones. “This little girl will make us a family of five,” Simpson continued. “We couldn’t be happier to announce this precious blessing of life.”
An inside source told Us Weekly at the time that the couple were “surprised but overjoyed” about their third baby.
Simpson’s pregnancy wasn’t without its difficulties, though. The fashion designer suffered from swollen feet, acid reflux and was even hospitalized multiple times.
“After a week in the hospital for bronchitis (my fourth time in 2 months), I’m finally home! Coughing with Birdie has been a crazy painful journey,” she wrote on Instagram at the end of her hospital stay. “I am slowly getting healthier every day. Baby girl was monitored and is doing amazing! I am on my way to healthy and counting down the days to see her sweet smile. Sending love and prayers to all the mothers who are going or have gone through this. OUCH.”
One day before her daughter’s arrival, she shared a bikini pic on social media, showing off her bare baby bump. “Jess-tation,” she wrote.
