Baby Leonard! Johnny Galecki announced on Friday, May 3, that he and girlfriend Alaina Meyer are expecting their first child together.
“We are absolutely over the moon to announce that we will soon be welcoming a little one into this crazy and wonderful world,” the Big Bang Theory star, 44, wrote via Instagram. “We ask that you please respect our privacy during this celebratory time for us and our families. There truly is love out there for all. We hope ours is the ember of yours, as we feel yours is the ember of ours.”
The sweet caption accompanied a selfie of the couple as well as a photo of the duo embracing on the beach.
The welder gushed in her own post too. “So happy to announce that we are having a baby!” she declared via Instagram. “There couldn’t be a better blessing in the world for us and we are over the moon happy. We appreciate as much privacy in this time as we are celebrating with close friends and family, and we are happy to share the news with you.”
The pair quietly dated for several months before going public with their relationship in September 2018. They were first seen together in July of last year and made their red carpet debut at the People’s Choice Awards in November.
Meyer, 21, shut down wedding speculation in December after she and the actor were spotted wearing matching rings. “#notmarried yet…,” she captioned an Instagram post at the time, adding a winky-face and a heart emoji.
Galecki’s growing family comes as he prepares to say goodbye to The Big Bang Theory after 12 seasons. The Roseanne alum documented his final days on set last month. “This morning was not an easy one,” he wrote alongside an Instagram photo of himself crying on set. “The final table reading for @bigbangtheory_cbs So very sad. So very grateful.”
He later shared a pic of the sitcom’s apartment door, noting: “More feelings than words can express.”
