“I had made a comment. I said something like, ‘I guess I’m gonna have a baby mama,’” the reality star, 42, told Busy Philipps on the Monday, February 18, episode of Busy Tonight. “And he said to me, ‘Don’t you ever say that because you are the mother. And to say she’s your baby’s mom is taking away from you.’ It made me feel better.”
She added: “At the time I didn’t know that he was doing [surrogacy] too. And then when he announced it, he hit me up immediately and said, ‘Now you see why I felt so strongly.’”
The Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen host, 50, revealed that he was expecting a baby boy via gestational carrier on a December episode of his show. The Bravo star welcomed his son, Benjamin, on February 4.
Burruss, who shares 3-year-old son, Ace, with her husband, Todd Tucker, and 16-year-old daughter, Riley, with her ex Russell Spencer, had been considering welcoming a third child via surrogate on RHOA. In November 2018, she told Us Weekly exclusively that she and Tucker were officially “moving forward” and expanding their family.
“We did find someone, and right now we are in the process,” the singer said at the time. “We have girls. We have two embryos that are still left from when we had Ace [through IVF].”
Before speaking with Cohen, Burruss also opened up about not having a friend to go to for advice. “Like, I don’t have anybody who can tell me [about it],” she told Us. “When we were going through the IVF process, I did have a couple of friends who had done it, so, you know, I could talk to them, but this is a situation where I don’t have anybody I can talk to.”
