Baby bash! Kate Mara and Jamie Bell are expecting their first child together, and the pair celebrated with a “beautiful” baby shower on Saturday, April 27.
“It was an intimate couple’s shower held at Kate and Jamie’s house,” an eyewitness exclusively tells Us Weekly. “There were beautiful pink flower arrangements and a big arch of wildflowers and roses to welcome guests at the gate. It was a stunning entrance and everyone stopped to admire it and take pictures.”
Guests, who “brought presents wrapped in pink,” included Joaquin Phoenix and the American Horror Story alum’s sister, Rooney Mara. Jamie, 33, who already shares 5-year-old son, Jack, with his ex-wife, Evan Rachel Wood, “was also there the entire time,” the insider adds. Phoenix and Mara have been dating since 2017.
As for Kate, 36, the mom-to-be “spent a lot of time playing with Jamie’s son in the yard,” the source tells Us. “She was great with him and clearly adores him. She was glowing and looked so happy. She wore a white tiered dress and had a pink ribbon in her hair. … It was a beautiful day and a lovely celebration for Kate and Jamie.”
News broke in January that the couple are expecting their first child together when the House of Cards alum debuted her baby bump at the Golden Globes.
In July 2018, the actress told Us exclusively how much she loves being a stepmom to Bell’s son. “I come from a really, really big family and I’ve had kids around me my entire life,” she said at the time. “Family is everything to me and I like being surrounded by lots of kids and family at all times.”
She and the actor starred together in 2015’s Fantastic Four. After two years of dating, they tied the knot in July 2017 in Los Angeles.
