Turning the other cheek. Kendra Wilkinson is no stranger to criticism, but from this day forward, she’s opting to ignore the noise of haters.
The 32-year-old former Playboy model took to Twitter on Thursday, April 12, to address the backlash she’s received since filing for divorce from her estranged husband, Hank Baskett, regarding the way she raises their children.
“Today will be the last day i give a f—k about anyone’s opinion,” Wilkinson wrote along with an emoji wearing a graduation cap. Baskett — with whom she shares two kids, Hank IV, 8, and Alijah, 3 — “liked” the tweet in support.
Earlier that same day, the Kendra on Top star defended her parenting skills in a lengthy Instagram tirade.
“Let me just vent for a second, I bust my ass off as a human being. I work, pay bills, take care of 2 kids and love them to the fullest plus trying to take care of myself through it all is a 24/7 job,” she wrote. “I don’t know what the f–k some of u haters think u know but you better get your heads checked because your assumptions based on pictures and clips of shows make u straight up delusional.”
Meanwhile, she took the opportunity to thank those who have supported her through this emotional time, noting that she’s been “pushed into a corner by judgement and opinions,” following her decision to leave the 35-year-old former NFL player.
She concluded the post: “I make my sacrifices so my kids can have a life they deserve. I drink to celebrate only and i enjoy my friends. One day I’ll get the credit i deserve for all the hard work i do but til then I’m going to keep doing me. I get it, i shouldn’t care what people think but sometimes I’m human and s–t gets to me … what pisses you off today guys?”
Earlier this month, Us Weekly exclusively revealed Wilkinson’s plan to end their nearly nine-year marriage. They both officially filed divorce papers on Friday, April 6, citing irreconcilable differences. Wilkinson is seeking joint legal custody of their two children.
Wilkinson addressed their split in an Instagram post that same day, noting that she “will forever love Hank.” She added, “I’m beyond sad and heartbroken because i did believe in forever, that’s why i said yes but unfortunately too much fear has gotten in the way.”
She concluded: “Sometimes love looks funny. We are told to make sacrifices in life if it’s true love well in this case it’s me. I want to see happy Hank again… i miss that. Marriage was just a piece of paper and a piece of jewelry but our hearts will always be real. U will prob see us together a lot but it’s because there’s no hate. Love wins in this case it’s just looks a little funny. Thank you Hank for a beautiful 8 years of marriage and 2 beautiful kids. I feel so thankful and blessed. ❤”
