A tragedy. Rah Ali gave birth to her daughter months before her due date and lost the baby girl, Us Weekly can confirm.
The Love & Hip Hop: New York alum, 35, was five months into her pregnancy, due in October, when her water broke on Sunday, May 26, according to TMZ. While the reality star was reportedly at home when her contractions started, she was rushed to the hospital where doctors were not able to save her infant, who only lived for a few minutes.
Ali was planning to announce her pregnancy in June, according to the outlet. She had a maternity shoot earlier this month.
Since the VH1 personality’s tragic loss this weekend, her friend Nicki Minaj has been supporting her, TMZ reports.
The King & an Ace author and the rapper, 36, are longtime friends, and Ali was at the September 2018 Harper’s Bazaar ICONS party when Minaj and Cardi B got into a physical altercation. Multiple sources told Us Weekly that the Grammy winner, 26, threw her shoe at the “Good Form” rapper before Ali interjected.
“Rah really, really beat Cardi’s ass bad,” Minaj said during an episode of the Queen Radio show on Beats 1 later that month. She went on to say that Ali hit the new mom at least eight times.
Minaj added: “Rah beat you so bad that I was mad at Rah. You went home and told people security hit you, and we let that ride for legal reasons. Anybody that wanna pull up the surveillance footage, I will give you $100,000.”
Shortly after, Cardi shared her side. “Here’s my thing Nicki Minaj, right?” she began a lengthy Instagram video at the time. “How you sayin’ I got ragged by Rah Ali when there’s so many footages of that night — every single angle — and where am I getting ragged at?”
