“It’s shown me that maybe I am not as patient as I thought I was,” the actress, 34, told Us Weekly at the Television Critics Association’s Winter Press Tour on Thursday, February 7. “But maybe it will be different when it’s your own children.”
The show also helped the Golden Globe nominee get some “tactical skills” under her belt because she “learned how to change a diaper … in the beginning of the series.”
She added that even though her character’s husband, Jack (Milo Ventimiglia), “is the superhero parent” on the show, Rebecca is the one who “does all the grunt work [that] moms typically do and don’t necessarily get all the credit for.”
On the show, Moore is a mother of three, but in real life, the A Walk to Remember star is a newlywed. She and Dawes singer Taylor Goldsmith married in a sunset ceremony in November 2018. They celebrated with guests including her costars Ventimiglia, Chrissy Metz and Sterling K. Brown.
Before the couple’s big day, Moore opened up to Us Weekly exclusively about what the moment meant to her. “I’m with my person. I’m with the right person,” she said. “It will mean a lot, I think, to be surrounded by friends and family and to say certain things to each other in front of them.”
The couple initially kept their engagement under wraps, with the “I’ve Got a Dream” singer only confirming that Goldsmith, 33, had popped the question when she was spotted at a Los Angeles cafe with a rock on her ring finger in September 2017.
Moore and the musician met through Instagram and began dating in July 2015 while the actress’ divorce from Ryan Adams, her husband of six years, was being finalized.
