Proud grandpa! Michael Douglas shared the first photo of his granddaughter, Lua, in a Facebook post on Thursday, December 21.
“Congratulations to my son, Cameron, and lovely Viviane [Thibes], on the birth of their daughter Lua!” he captioned a pic of the newborn wrapped up in a soft pajama top.
Cameron, 39, revealed his daughter’s arrival in an Instagram post on Monday. “Today my appreciation for Mother’s all over the world has reached new heights…today I took part in a miracle as my baby girl was introduced to the world through a beautiful Amazon warrior,” he captioned a pic of girlfriend Viviane Thibes striking a yoga pose. “I’m so proud of you.”
The news comes 16 months after Cameron was released from prison. He was incarcerated in 2009 after he was found in possession of 0.5 pounds of methamphetamine and was later charged with the intent to distribute. His sentence was extended when he pleaded guilty to smuggling drugs into jail in 2011.
Little Lua is the Oscar winner’s first grandchild. (The 73-year-old had Cameron with his first wife, Diandra Morrell Douglas.) He’s also dad of son Dylan, 17, and daughter Carys, 14, with wife Catherine Zeta-Jones. Earlier this week, Zeta-Jones shared a pic of the family of four on vacation. “At the Taj Mahal with the three other ‘Wonders of the World’ in my life,” she wrote on December 19.
