Giuliana and Bill Rancic are mulling a major move.
“As you guys may or may not know, Bill and I, we’ve moved a lot through the years,” Guiliana, 52, began the Tuesday, October 27, episode of their eponymous iHeartRadio podcast. “We have looked at all different cities, and Nashville has always been on our list of cities that we’ve always been really interested in possibly moving to.”
Giuliana and Bill, 55, have been married since 2007, settling in Chicago to raise son Duke after splitting time in the Midwest and Los Angeles. The family of three also briefly spent time in Austin, Texas, for a period.
“We visited Nashville, and we’re considering moving there,” Giuliana told podcast guest Jana Kramer, who is raising her three kids in Tennessee, detailing how Duke, 14, factored into the couple’s decision. “[Kids] will tell you what they don’t like, and it’s real stuff. They’re very perceptive and they’re intuitive and they know what’s up. Like, our son is 14, and we’re starting to hear him communicate in ways that we had never seen before because he was younger.”
She continued, “One of the things we’re hearing is that he’ll say things like, ‘The city’s chaotic.’ There’s a lot of underlying messaging there. You know, like, ‘The city’s chaotic, it’s stressful, it’s chaotic.’ I’m going, ‘You know, [with] his personality, living somewhere calmer might be better for him.’”
Giuliana and Bill hope to settle down before Duke begins high school next fall.
“We, obviously, want to do whatever is best for our son. I mean, listen, at the end of the day, he’s 14. He’ll start his life, regardless if he goes to college or not, at 18 or 19. It’s going to be here before we know it,” she acknowledged. “And, yes, do we have certain places we want to live and certain things we want to do? But you know what? We’re parents, and right now the sacrifices and compromises are for him. We want him to have the best experience possible these next handful of years.”
The former E! News correspondent and the Apprentice champ are also considering relocating to Florida.
“Nashville seems to check a lot of boxes … [but] we have talked about Florida as well because Bill’s a boater and we love the water and we love the weather,” Guiliana noted. “Although it’s very hot in the summer, but so is Nashville. And so is Austin, where we once lived.”
