Panic swept the San Jose, Calif. nightclub Fiesta in the early morning hours of Sunday, Jan. 11 when gunshots rang out in the middle of Chris Brown's performance.

The R&B artist, 25, was singing his hit "Loyal" when he acknowledged some audience members fighting in the corner.

"Aw, them n—as gettin' hit over there!" he shouted into the mic before gunshots rang out, and Brown was rushed to safety. The moment was captured in a video on TMZ and on Brown's official Vine account. (WARNING: Offensive language below.)

TMZ reports that five people were wounded in the incident, which took place around 1:20 a.m. All victims were treated at the hospital.

According to local TV station KRON4, police are currently questioning a number of people to find the motive behind the shootings. No suspects have been named at this time.

This isn't the first time an event featuring Brown led to injury. Back in August the "Only" singer hosted a pre-VMAs party at 1Oak in Los Angeles where famed producer Suge Knight was shot six times. Knight survived the attack.
