TikTok Star Chris Olsen Breaks Silence on Meghan Trainor Feud Rumors: ‘We Are Family Now’ (Exclusive)

TikTok star Chris Olsen is finally addressing rumors that he had a falling out with best friend Meghan Trainor.

“We always play a joke on the internet in ways,” Olsen, 28, says in Us‘ exclusive clip from the Tuesday, September 14, episode of Tommy DiDario‘s “I’ve Never Said This Before” podcast. “They thought we were childhood friends for the longest time because that was the first video we ever made together.”

Olsen admits he couldn’t recall whether the pair jokingly alluded to a feud in the past.

“So you asked me that question and I am like, ‘Have we said we have beef?’ Did I just dispel a bit we were doing?’ But I don’t think so. No,” he continues. “There is currently no beef.”

While Olsen and Trainor, 32, are on good terms, he acknowledges there is a distance between them, adding, “I am just in New York full time and she is in L.A. I miss her and I miss being [gay uncle] Chris to the kids. I feel very much a part of the Trainor family.”

He explains: “It feels like that is our relationship at this point, but we talked yesterday. We are family now. But if you want to come up with a good story, then we can run with it.”

Olsen and Trainor, who shares three kids with husband Daryl Sabara, became friends in 2022 when he appeared on her podcast. As the pair grew closer over the years, they documented their BFF antics on TikTok.

More recently, Olsen defended Trainor after she canceled her Get in Girl tour, which was set to start in June.

“I guess now it’s become public knowledge that Meghan Trainor has canceled her tour,” Olsen said via a TikTok video in April. “And on one of the posts that was saying that that happened, the comment section was predictably vicious.”

The content creator questioned the backlash directed at Trainor. “What is the end goal?” he added. “Because sure, the goal might be to make other people laugh because you’re saying something that’s mean, but you think it’s funny. The goal could be to hurt the person you’re commenting toward.”

Olsen urged fans to be more understanding of the situation.

“I’ve been on the receiving end of a death threat before, so I know sometimes people do just want you to die, which I know also just means they want you to go away,” he noted. “And maybe they just want to say it in the harshest way possible.”

He concluded: “[There are always going to be] people who annoy you. So really, this energy just continues to get wasted.”
