The young man found dead in Demi Moore's swimming pool this past weekend has been identified by the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office as 21-year-old Edenilson Steven Valle.
According to KTLA, Lt. Fred Corral of the coroner's office said Valle was a resident of Los Angeles. Authorities believe Valle's death was accidental, as the victim did not know how to swim. His connection to Moore and her staff members still remains unclear.
The Los Angeles Police Department told Us Weekly on Sunday, July 19, that Moore and her daughters, as well as other relatives, were not at her residence in L.A.'s Westside neighborhood at the time of the incident. Police also told Us that the only personnel present at the actress' home were staff members. Authorities said there were only five people at the house when the incident occurred, and it appears that Valle fell into the pool at night and wasn't found until the next morning.
Police arrived at Moore's home shortly after 5:15 a.m., the Los Angeles Fire Department told KTLA on Monday. By the time authorities arrived, however, Valle was "beyond medical help."
Moore released a statement late Sunday night regarding the incident. "I am in absolute shock," the actress told Us. "I was out of the country traveling to meet my daughters for a birthday celebration when I got the devastating news," the actress told Us in a statement. "The loss of a child is an unthinkable tragedy and my heart goes out to this young man's family and friends. I ask that you please respect the privacy of all concerned during this sensitive time."
Meanwhile, her daughters Tallulah and Scout have been sharing social media updates from France, while her eldest Rumer is currently in NYC.
