Are Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin consciously recoupling? The separated husband-and-wife pair, who announced their split just weeks ago, reunited in Santa Monica on Thursday evening, May 1.
The parents to Apple, 9, and Moses, 7, were spotted sharing dinner at Italian restaurant Giorgio Baldi. They slipped out through plastic curtains in a back exit from the establishment in an attempt to go unnoticed.
Paltrow, 41, wore white bottoms, black leather booties, and a fitted black blazer for the meal, while Martin, 37, sported a relaxed long-sleeved T-shirt, gray pants, and sneakers.
Paltrow has been out-and-about since the announcement, hitting Hong Kong last week to promote her lifestyle website Goop. The Iron Man actress married Martin in 2003.
The Coldplay singer recently gave an interview to BBC Radio 1's Zane Lowe in promotion of his band's upcoming album Ghost Stories. He touched on the end of his marriage during the sit-down, taking partial responsibility for the dissolution.
"I wouldn't use the word breakdown," Martin said about his split from Paltrow. "This was more a realization about trying to grow up basically… if you can't open yourself up, you can't appreciate the wonder inside. So you can be with someone very wonderful, but because of your own issues, you cannot let that be celebrated in the right way."
