Jennifer Aniston is getting back into the swing of things. The actress enjoyed a night out in Los Angeles on Wednesday, February 21, just one week after announcing her split from husband Justin Theroux.
Aniston, 49, quietly attended the premiere of her longtime friend Jason Bateman’s new movie Game Night at the Chinese Theater, but opted to skip the red carpet. “Jen snuck in through the side door,” a source tells Us Weekly. “She was friendly but very low-key.”
According to the source, the Friends alum “looked great” and spent most of the night with the Arrested Development star, 49, and his wife, Amanda Anka.
Aniston honored Bateman — whom she has starred alongside in films including Horrible Bosses and The Switch — when he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in July 2017. “He’s a fantastic partner in crime, the most generous man that makes the world laugh and cry on a dime,” she said at the ceremony.
Wednesday’s outing marked the first public event that the Cake actress has attended since she and Theroux, 46, announced on February 15 that they had separated after two years of marriage. “This decision was mutual and lovingly made at the end of last year,” they said in a joint statement. “We are two best friends who have decided to part ways as a couple, but look forward to continuing our cherished friendship.”
Us Weekly exclusively revealed that Aniston and the Leftovers alum made a last-ditch effort to save their marriage in January during a vacation in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, with Bateman and Anka.
“Jason Bateman’s wife convinced Justin to go to Cabo. She has been the mediator in recent months, trying to get Jen and Justin to work through their problems,” a source told Us. “The Cabo trip was a make or break vacation. … It didn’t work.”
