To the next chapter. Many celebrity splits have rocked Hollywood over the years, including Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin as well as Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan. Tatum and Dewan’s love story began on the set of 2006’s Step Up, where they costarred as onscreen love interests. The duo tied the knot in 2009 and welcomed daughter Everly in 2013. To the surprise of many, they would go on to announce their separation in April 2018. “We have lovingly chosen to separate as a couple. We fell deeply in love so many years ago and have had a magical journey together,” the pair said at the time in a joint statement to Us Weekly. “Absolutely nothing has changed about how much we love one another, but love is a beautiful adventure that is taking us on different paths for now.” The statement continued, “There are no secrets nor salacious events at the root of our decision — just two best-friends realizing it’s time to take some space and help each other live the most joyous, fulfilled lives as possible.” [jwplayer tc9OVlWG-l3ahXupL] The Witches of East End alum began dating actor Steve Kazee in October 2018. They got engaged in February 2020 and welcomed son Callum that following month. The Magic Mike actor, for his part, dated Jessie J from October 2018 to December 2019. After reconciling in January 2020, they split for the second time that April. Paltrow, meanwhile, coined the term “conscious uncoupling” when announcing her split from Martin after 10 years of marriage in 2014. The pair have continued to remain good friends while coparenting their daughter Apple and son Moses. “It’s a lifelong commitment to constantly reinvent your relationship with your ex, which you do presumably because you have children together,” the Goop founder told Harper’s Bazaar in February 2020. “I don’t see a reason to do it if you don’t have children together. Some people do. But I think we put all the hard work in at the beginning. I would say very rarely is it difficult now. We’ve learned how to communicate with each other. We love each other. We laugh. We have the best of each other. It’s really nice. Tia Mowry and Cory Hardrict

The Sister, Sister alum filed for divorce in September 2022 after more than a decade of marriage. Mowry and Hardrict tied the knot in 2008, going on to welcome son Cree and daughter Cairo in 2011 and 2018, respectively. In her divorce paperwork, the actress requested joint physical and legal custody of the pair's children and acknowledged that she and Hardrict had a prenup in place.

Shortly before the duo called it quits, Mowry exclusively told Us that she felt "so content" with her family life, adding, "I'm just focusing on ensuring that my children are happy, healthy and have the life that they need."

Hoda Kotb and Joel Schiffman

The journalist broke the news of her split during a January 2022 episode of the Today show, telling viewers, "We decided we are going to start this new year on our new path as loving parents to our adorably delightful children and as friends." Kotb and Schiffman got engaged in 2019. They share daughters Haley and Hope.

Christina and Ant Anstead

The Christina on the Coast star and the English TV presenter called it quits in September 2020 after less than two years of marriage. The former couple wed in December 2018 and welcomed their first child in September 2019. Christina announced the split via Instagram, writing, “Ant and I have made the difficult decision to separate. We are grateful for each other and as always, our children will remain our priority. We appreciate your support and ask for privacy for us and our family as we navigate the future.”

Armie Hammer and Elizabeth Chambers

In a joint statement posted to their respective Instagram pages, Hammer and Chambers announced their split after 13 years together in July 2020. The exes, who tied the knot in 2010, share daughter Harper and son Ford. 

“Thirteen years as best friends, soulmates, partners and then parents. It has been an incredible journey, but together, we’ve decided to turn the page and move on from our marriage,” the statement read. “As we enter into this next chapter, our children and relationship as co-parents and dear friends will remain our priority. We understand this news lends itself to public dialogue, but in the interest of our children and our family, we’re asking for privacy, compassion and love during this time.”

After nearly seven years of marriage, the “Love So Soft” singer filed for divorce from Blackstock in June 2020. In the wake of their separation, Clarkson tweeted about how 2020 was “challenging, overwhelming & sometimes it feels like hope is lost.”

Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green

Us Weekly broke the news in August 2015 that Fox and Green split after five years of marriage. The Jennifer’s Body actress filed for divorce two days later and cited “irreconcilable differences,” but they confirmed that they were expecting their third child together eight months later. 

The Beverly Hills, 90210 alum announced in May 2020 that the longtime pair had quietly separated for good at the end of 2019. “It sucks when life changes and something that you’re used to, that you’ve been doing for 15 years, you try and not get rid of but you change,” he said on his “…With Brian Austin Green” podcast. “There’s the unknown aspect … there’s that pit in my stomach … I really don’t want Megan and I to be at odds … she’s been my best friend for 15 years and I don’t want to lose that.”

Us exclusively revealed in June 2020 that Fox was dating Machine Gun Kelly. Green, for his part, was spotted holding hands with model Tina Louise after their split.

The Uncommon James founder and the former NFL star announced their split in April 2020 after seven years of marriage. “With great sadness, after 10 years together we have come to a loving conclusion to get a divorce,” they said in a joint statement via Instagram. “We have nothing but love and respect for one another and are deeply grateful for the years shared, memories made, and the children we are so proud of. The Last Song costars began dating in 2009 and broke off their engagement in 2013. They reconciled in 2016 and tied the knot in December 2018, but they called it quits after less than eight months of marriage. “Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time,” a rep for Cyrus confirmed to Us in August 2019. “Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers. They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy.”

The Grammy nominee had a one-month fling with Kaitlynn Carter before she began dating Cody Simpson in October 2019. Meanwhile, Hemsworth had been linked to Maddison Brown and Gabriella Brooks.

Less than a year after surprising fans by secretly tying the knot in a private ceremony, the Oscar nominee and the former The Microphones frontman called it quits. News broke of their split in April 2019.

John Cena and Nikki Bella

Cena and Bella called off their one-year engagement on April 15, 2018. The Blockers actor popped the question during Wrestlemania 33 in 2017. "I have been waiting so long to ask you this. Stephanie Nicole Garcia-Colace, will you marry me?" he asked at the time. They'd later confirm their split in an exclusive joint statement to Us Weekly.

The pair announced in April 2018 that they were separating after nearly nine years of marriage. They tied the knot in 2009 three years after meeting on set of Step Up and welcomed daughter Everly in 2013. "Absolutely nothing has changed about how much we love one another, but love is a beautiful adventure that is taking us on different paths for now. The actors announced in February 2018 that they were separating after two years of marriage — and seven years together overall. “In an effort to reduce any further speculation, we have decided to announce our separation.  This decision was mutual and lovingly made at the end of last year,” the pair told Us Weekly in a joint statement. “We are two best friends who have decided to part ways as a couple, but look forward to continuing our cherished friendship."

The couple announced in August 2017 that they were legally separating after eight years of marriage. “We tried really hard for a long time, and we’re really disappointed. Our son has two parents who love him very much and for his sake we want to keep the situation as private as possible moving forward. We still love each other and will always cherish our time together," they said in a joint statement. The parents of Jack both filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences that December.

Pratt wed Katherine Schwarzenegger in 2019. It was announced in April 2020 that they were expecting their first child together. Faris, for her part, confirmed her engagement to cinematographer Michael Barrett in February 2020.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie

The exes made headlines when the actress filed for divorce after two years of marriage in September 2016 citing irreconcilable differences. In February 2018, the pair were reportedly still working out their divorce settlement. They are parents of six children — Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh and twins Knox and Vivienne.

Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale

Us Weekly exclusively revealed in November 2015 that Rossdale cheated on Stefani with their family nanny, three months after the pair confirmed their split. One day after their 10th wedding anniversary in June 2015, Garner and Affleck announced their plan to divorce. “After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce,” the actors said in a joint statement to Us at the time. “We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children whose privacy we ask to be respected during this difficult time.” The former pair share three children: Violet, Seraphina and Samuel. 

The Alias alum went on to date businessman John Miller in 2018. The Way Back star, for his part, dated Saturday Night Live producer Lindsay Shookus, model Shauna Sexton and went public with actress Ana de Armas in March 2020.

Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert

The country superstars announced their split after four years of marriage in July 2015. "This is not the future we envisioned," their representatives told Us Weekly in a statement at the time. "And it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately. We are real people, with real lives, with real families, friends and colleagues. Therefore, we kindly ask for privacy and compassion concerning this very personal matter."

Months after the breakup, Shelton began dating his The Voice colleague Gwen Stefani. Lambert, for her part, wed former NYPD officer Brendan McLoughlin in 2019.

Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin

It's over. The Oscar winner and Coldplay frontman announced in March 2014 that they were going their separate ways after more than a decade of marriage. "It is with hearts full of sadness that we have decided to separate," they said in a joint statement. "We have been working hard for well over a year, some of it together, some of it separated, to see what might have been possible between us, and we have come to the conclusion that while we love each other very much, we will remain separate." The exes — who are parents of daughter Apple and son Moses — finalized their divorce in July 2016.

After 18 years of marriage, Griffith filed for divorce from Banderas in 2014. “We have thoughtfully and consensually decided to finalize our almost 20-year marriage in a loving and friendly manner,” the former longtime pair told Us at the time. The exes share daughter Stella.

Moving on. Holmes and Cruise announced that they were divorcing after five years of marriage in June 2012. "Katie's primary concern remains, as it always has been, her daughter's best interest. This is a personal and private matter for Katie and her family," Holmes' attorney Jonathan Wolfe said in a statement to Us at the time. The pair welcomed Suri in April 2006.

Lopez and Anthony announced their plans to separate in 2011 after seven years of marriage. “We have decided to end our marriage. This was a very difficult decision,” a rep for the pair told Us at the time. “We have come to an amicable conclusion on all matters.”

The former couple are the parents of twins Max and Emme. Despite their breakup, Lopez and Anthony have remained good friends. 

The “On the Floor” singer split from Casper Smart in 2016 after five years together and got engaged to Alex Rodriguez in 2019. Anthony was married to Shannon De Lima from 2014 to 2017.

The Cruel Intentions costars — who share daughter Ava and son Deacon — announced their split in 2006 after seven years of marriage. The Big Little Lies actress filed for divorce thereafter. 

That same year, the Shooter alum began dating his Stop-Loss costar Abbie Cornish following rumors of an alleged affair. Phillippe dated Cornish until early 2010 and then went on to welcome a daughter with Pitch Perfect actress Alexis Knapp in 2011. He then dated fiancée Paulina Slagter for five years before breaking off their engagement in 2016.

Witherspoon, meanwhile, wed Jim Toth in 2011. They are the parents of son Tennessee.

In June 1998, the A-Listers announced their separation after nearly 11 years of marriage. Willis and Moore have continued to be the best of friends since finalizing their marriage in 2000. Amid the coronavirus pandemic in 2020, they quarantined together in Idaho alongside their three daughters: Rumer, Scout and Tallulah. 

Moore moved on with Ashton Kutcher and they were married from 2005 to 2013. Willis wed Emma Heming in 2009 and welcomed two more daughters: Evelyn and Mabel.
