Kim Kardashian feared for her life and thought she was going to be sexually assaulted when five men dressed as police officers robbed her at gunpoint in Paris on Monday, October 3, a source tells Us Weekly.
According to the insider, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, 35, was in bed wearing only a bathrobe when her hands were bound with plastic zip ties before she was carried into a bathroom.
“She thought there was going to be a sexual assault or that she was going to be killed in the bathroom,” the source tells Us of the horrifying experience. “They did not speak English. Kim was hysterically crying, begging for her life, telling them about her babies.”
The mom of North, 3, and Saint, 9 months, feared for her life.
“In her head, at that minute in the bathroom, she thought her life was over,” the source tells Us. “There was a gun on her the whole time. She was begging them not to kill her.”
The insider adds that the intruders “gagged her … covering her mouth but not her nose” and that they wrapped her with tape before leaving her in the bathroom as they took off with her jewelry estimated to be worth $10 million.
“After they left she was able to wiggle her hands out of the tie and then she was able to get the rest of the stuff off of her,” the insider says. “She definitely thought she was going to be raped and murdered. She feared rape — she was basically naked.”
Kardashian’s rep told Us in a statement on Monday that the social media maven was left “badly shaken but physically unharmed.”
Law enforcement officials confirmed to Us that the men disguised themselves as police officers and attacked a male concierge to gain access to Kardashian and husband Kanye West’s apartment in the luxury building known as the Hôtel de Portals. According to authorities, the crime was carried out by a “highly organized” gang who did a great deal of planning before the raid.
Kardashian’s bodyguard Pascal Duvier was not with the star at the time because he was escorting her sisters Kourtney Kardashian and Kendall Jenner at club L’Arc during the time of the robbery.
“Kim felt safe at the apartment by herself,” a second source previously told Us of why Duvier wasn’t with the reality star. “Kim is not blaming Pascal. She felt completely safe at the Paris apartment and doesn't believe this is his fault in any way.”
As previously reported, Kardashian's security, along with Kourtney and Kendall, immediately rushed to the Selfish author’s aide after learning of the incident. The social media maven jetted out of Paris after giving police a statement and was met in NYC by West, 39, and a 15-car motorcade that escorted them safely their NYC apartment.
