The Osbourne family has been through its share of ups and downs, and in a new statement to Us Weekly, patriarch Ozzy Osbourne takes full responsibility for causing a lot of the turmoil.
“Over the last six years, I have been dealing with a sex addiction,” he said. “I am mortified at what my behavior has done to my family. I thank God that my incredible wife is at my side to support me.”
The 67-year-old Black Sabbath rocker added that contrary to reports, he did not have feelings for Michelle Pugh, the hairstylist he had an affair with.
“I’m sorry if Ms. Pugh took our sexual relationship out of context,” he said in the statement. “I’d also like to apologize to the other women I have been having sexual relationships with. Out of bad comes good.”
In May, Ozzy and his longtime love, Sharon, 63, seemingly split after she and the rest of the family discovered his infidelity. The couple quietly reconciled afterward, and Ozzy told Good Morning America in late July that their marriage was “back on track.”
“You just, you make mistakes, and you learn by your mistakes, I think,” Ozzy said at the time. “It’s just a bump in the road.”
According to his statement to Us, the music icon is taking the necessary steps — including going into “intense therapy” — to ensure that he works to be better for his family.
