That’s so not Raven. Raven-Symone took to social media on Wednesday, Nov. 19, to slam “disgusting” rumors that were circulating about her.
The former child star, now 28, spoke out on speculation that she was included in the group of women whom actor Bill Cosby allegedly sexually assaulted. Symone addressed the talk by sharing a photo via Instagram.
The star posted a photo of herself as a young girl, making a cautionary, pointed pose on The Cosby Show. She distanced herself from Cosby’s ongoing scandal in the caption.
“I was NOT [taken] advantage of by Mr. Cosby when I was on the Cosby Show!” she wrote. “I was practically a baby on that show and this is truly a disgusting rumor that I want no part of! Everyone on that show treated me with nothing but kindness. Now keep me out of this!”
Symone first appeared on the family sitcom when she was just 4 years old. She went on to star alongside the now-disgraced Cosby, 77, for three years until The Cosby Show wrapped in 1992.
The beloved actor landed back in the headlines for his dark past this fall, when comedian Hannibal Buress called him a “rapist” in a stand-up set, bringing up the multiple women who have accused Cosby of sexual assault and rape.
Cosby has since refused to comment on the allegations, even as more women come forward and give interviews. On Thursday, Nov. 20, video surfaced of the Emmy winner telling an AP reporter when asked about the claims, “No, no, we don’t answer that… There is no comment about that and I’ll tell you why. I think you were told, I don’t want to compromise your integrity, but I don’t talk about it.”
