Prior to tying the knot, the longtime partners welcomed two kids together. Their daughter, Bonnie, in 1999, and son, Garry, in 2001.

The pair tied the knot in Hawaii in May 2006. One day prior to their nuptials, Dog’s daughter, Barbara Katy Chapman, was in a car accident in Fairbanks, Alaska, and passed away at age 23. "They all decided unanimously they should celebrate the wedding and her life," Michael Feeney, senior vice president of A&E television network, said in a statement at the time, noting Dog’s other children helped with the decision.

Dog and Beth appeared in a spinoff of their original show called Dog and Beth: On the Hunt from 2013 to 2015. The show aired on CMT and followed the couple on as they helped other bail bond agencies who were close to going out of business.

Beth penned a letter to friends in September 2017 to share the news of her throat cancer diagnosis. “As most of you know I’ve spent a lifetime facing tests and challenges I didn’t see coming and certainly never expected,” she wrote at the time. “I’ve been dealt my share of unexpected blows over the course of my almost fifty years but nothing as serious as the one I heard from my doctors two weeks ago when they uttered those dreaded three words, ‘You have cancer.’” She added: “My husband and children are counting on me to be there for years to come. I am so very grateful to be surrounded by family and friends who have given me incredible support during this very challenging time.”

Dog opened up to Us Weekly about his wife’s health scare shortly after she revealed she was sick. “She woke up once in the middle of the night and she’s like, ‘Honey, I'm gonna die.’ I said, ‘No, you’re not gonna die and I’m not gonna hear that.’ She goes, ‘Yes, I am. You’re so stupid, how are you gonna make it by yourself?’ It has brought us closer,” he told Us in November 2017. “I’ve been with her since she was 19, she’s almost 100. Every picture I see of us together, I remember where it was. It just makes all those moments that you shared love a lot more real when that could be what you’re left with: just the moments. It was hard as s–t.” He added of the day she went in for surgery: “It was the worst day I’ve ever been through.”

Beth underwent emergency surgery in November 2018, which revealed her cancer had returned. Following the procedure, Dog gave Us an update on how she was doing. “She had a lump in her throat twice the size of last time, and they performed an emergency surgery yesterday. They cut a hole in her throat so she can breathe; she can still talk,” he told Us adding that she’s “doing the best she can and remains incredibly strong.”

Dog confirmed in June 2019 that his wife was placed in a medically induced coma amid her cancer battle. "Please say your prayers for Beth right now," he tweeted at the time. "Thank you love you.”

Dog confirmed on June 26, 2019, that his wife died at a hospital in Hawaii at the age of 51. “It’s 5:32 in Hawaii, this is the time she would wake up to go hike Koko Head mountain,” the reality star tweeted at the time. “Only today, she hiked the stairway to heaven. We all love you, Beth. See you on the other side.”
