Are things no longer coming up roses for Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell? The pair appear to hit the biggest obstacle yet in their path to holy matrimony on Ben & Lauren: Happily Ever After‘s Tuesday, November 15, episode, as seen in a sneak peek.
In the Freeform relationship series’ preview clip, Higgins and Bushnell take part in couples counseling. During the therapy session, Higgins tells his fiancée, “I think you’re ready to start a life. I’m not ready for that — not even close.” The video is in the Facebook post below.
A later scene appears to show the tension leading the pair to their breaking point. “So you’re saying the wedding is off?” Bushnell asks as tears well up in her eyes. “Yeah, I am,” answers Higgins. Pause. Rewind. What? This preview clip is likely to leave Bachelor Nation dumbfounded.
The promo also shows the couple heading to Las Vegas, and it features appearances by Emily and Haley Ferguson, along with fellow engaged duo Lace Morris and Grant Kemp.
Ben & Lauren fans have seen the Bachelor season 20 lovebirds experience a few tough moments this season. A previous episode revealed that Higgins was initially hesitant about the idea of a televised wedding. “You want a new house. You want a wedding. You want kids. You want a dog,” Higgins told Bushnell in an argument.
Ultimately, the software salesman warmed up to the idea of getting hitched to the flight attendant in front of millions of fans.
