Brian Austin Green opened up about how he makes sure to support his fiancée, Sharna Burgess, amid her busy schedule while working on Dancing With the Stars.
“With Dancing with the Stars, she’s in town. So showing up and supporting [each other] is different than when I’m out of town doing something because she just has to hold down the fort while I’m gone,” Green, 53, exclusively told Us while discussing his upcoming appearance on Fox’s Celebrity Name That Tune. “Here, I want to get up in the morning when she gets up and make her a coffee and do the things and give her a pep talk for the day.”
Green has made it a priority to be there emotionally for Burgess, 41.
“I know she’s going to be super busy and stressed and they’re learning a lot of stuff and she’s going through it. It varies based on the project and where it is. This is a new one but we’re figuring it out,” he shared. “We’re getting through it.”
The actor praised Burgess for her commitment after returning to season 35 of DWTS, adding, “She’s doing an amazing job on the show. She’s such an amazing choreographer and dancer. And my God was she missed by fans and people that love it.”
He continued: “She brings something back — something classic — to the show. She is a brilliant dancer and performer and she brings that quality back that Len Goodman loves. It’s the authentic dance styles — without all the bells and the whistles and fancy things. She really tries to be as content heavy as she can and bring those styles in a true way. She’s super fun to watch.”

While the couple, who have been engaged since 2023 and share son Zane, continue to find a balance between their careers and their home life, Green acknowledged that it has “been hard.”
“The Dancing With the Stars schedule is a pretty packed one. They have a lot of stuff that they do so it’s not the time that I’m used to [having] with her. It’s just taking getting used to. It is going OK, it’s going to be really busy for the next month and a half if she makes it all the way to the end,” he noted. “So compartmentalize the stuff and then when it’s done and then she has time, then it’s cool. Now we have our time back together again and it’s the same thing when I’m working.”
Green and Burgess make an effort to make sure each one of them is able to take work opportunities.
“When I’m out of town or I’m doing stuff, she has to buckle down and things just change. We have crazy careers that way. What we do is not a typical 9 to 5 and we’re constantly learning and growing and adapting,” he gushed. “Honestly, it all makes us stronger.”

Green praised him and Burgess for putting in the work, adding, “You hit these bumps and these things where it becomes really difficult to navigate for a minute. You’re not sure what to do and then find this new direction and this new way of handling it and then it makes you stronger.”
The pair is then able to appreciate each other more.
“[For date nights], it’s just us time. Not talking about work and not talking about any of that. Going and having a nice dinner somewhere and just spending time together and making sure that we are connected,” he told Us. “You tend to lose that sometimes with family and all this stuff. You’re always making sure that everybody else is taken care of. So it’s just good for us to take the time ourselves to do stuff.”
Green couldn’t help but gush over Burgess, telling Us, “I’m always impressed by her. It’s hard when you get into a relationship because you tend to lose a bit of yourself being with someone and you take on qualities that are closer to them. But then find these things that are sort of these common bonds. When you have the ability to spend some time by yourself, you reconnect to the passions and the things that were you on your own.”
He concluded: “So it’s really amazing to watch her do that because she is so fierce. She never ceases to amaze me. How she can walk into a room on her own and there’s nothing intimidating for her about it. She can absolutely show up and represent and be 1,000 percent her and wow everybody that’s there. It’s a sight to behold. She is an incredibly powerful, intelligent, kind, generous woman who is just on top of it all so stunningly beautiful. I’m the luckiest guy in the world, so we’re just staying the course.”
As Burgess is focused on DWTS, Green also had the chance to say yes to certain projects — such as Fox’s Celebrity Name That Tune.
“I’m just freewheeling right now. I’m lucky enough to have this time off right now so these things have worked out. Name That Tune we shot in Ireland. So I had this amazing trip to Ireland with my fiancée,” he recalled. “It was great. There are a lot of these things where they just work out and it’s just a bonus all around. Things just fall into place.”
Green was thrilled to go up against Daphne Zuniga as he competed to raise money for Race to Erase MS, a non-profit organization dedicated to funding multiple sclerosis research.
“It’s an organization that I’ve worked with for a long time. When I first started doing it in the ’90s, it was an actual race. We would raise money and it’s been going on for so long now. It’s hard sometimes picking charities because charity work is difficult,” he explained to Us. “MS is something that is so close. I genuinely feel like within my lifetime — within the next few years, — there could absolutely be a cure that is found. I just love the concept of helping with something that that could and should be so close. They’ve been fighting it for a while now. So it’s one of those things where it’s like, ‘God, it’s gotten so close.’ It just continues to develop and get closer. Why not just help push them over the finish line?”
Celebrity Name That Tune airs on Fox Mondays at 8 p.m. ET.
