'Dancing With the Stars' Pros and Celebs Who Found Love on the Show — and Are Still Together

Learning to dance or learning to love? For many, those things are one in the same. Since its 2004 debut, Dancing With the Stars has awarded many mirrorball trophies — and has led to engagements, babies and lasting love. For the pros, it's not surprising that they find love with their colleagues after spending multiple hours a day together while filming, rehearsing and hitting the road together on the Dancing With the Stars tour. Although it's more rare, sometimes a celebrity falls for their pro partner. In 2017, former WWE wrestler Nikki Bella was partnered with Artem Chigvintsev. The duo formed a quick friendship, as she was engaged to John Cena at the time. Six months after her run on Dancing With the Stars ended, she and Cena split and called off their wedding. In January 2019, Us Weekly broke the news that the Total Bellas star was dating her former partner. Three months later, she confirmed the romance. "He lets me be me,” she told Us in October 2019. “The attention of what he gives me with my soul, with my personal life, my business life. Like, I have never met anyone who’s so supportive and I have no fear that he’s ever going to leave me for my imperfections, which is so amazing." The twosome confirmed in August 2022 that they tied the knot in Paris after more than three years of dating. Chigvintsev gushed about the major milestone that same month. "Because we've been together for quite some time, I [felt] like, 'Hey, getting married's not gonna change much,'" he shared with Us. "Just because ... our days are still the same. [But] it actually does [change everything]." The Russian native added: "It just gives you more of [a feeling of being] filled with responsibilities. ... [I] definitely think through a lot more than I used to, but it feels good. It feels good to be married." Bella and Chigvintsev aren't the only pro-celeb couple to find lasting love. In 2015, pro dancer Kym Johnson was partnered up with Shark Tank's Robert Herjavec. The duo had initial sparks and later confirmed they were dating. "From the moment I met [Kym], we got along great. This is a very scary experience for me, and it’s great to have somebody like Kym to go through it with," he shared with Us at the time. Those sparks turned into full-on flames as they went on to get married — and have twins! — after the show ended. Britt Stewart and Daniel Durant

The two hard launched their romance on Instagram on Valentine's Day 2023. The CODA actor and the choreographer met while competing for the mirrorball trophy. They placed fifth during their season, which premiered in September 2022.

Artem Chigvintsev and Nikki Bella

Two years after being partnered together during season 25 in 2017, Us Weekly confirmed that Bella and Chigvintsev were dating. In January 2020, the couple announced they were engaged. Seven months later, they welcomed their first son, Matteo. The Total Bellas star confirmed in August 2022 that the lovebirds said “I do” in Paris.

Kym Johnson and Robert Kerjavec

Former DWTS pro Johnson was partnered with the businessman for season 20 of the show in 2015. In February 2016, the pair announced their engagement. Johnson and Herjavec tied the knot in July 2016 and welcomed twins, Hudson and Haven, in April 2018.

Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd

Despite being known as the "bad boy of the ballroom," Maksim — the brother of Val — began dating DWTS pro Murgatroyd in 2012. After years of an on-off relationship, he proposed in December 2015. The pair welcomed their first child, son Shai Aleksander, in January 2017. Seven months later, the dancers married.

In January 2023, Murgatroyd announced that she is pregnant and expecting the duo’s second child following multiple miscarriages.

Daniella Karagach and Pasha Pashkov

In 2019, Pashkov and Karagach joined Dancing With the Stars for season 28. However, the pro dancers connected years before that — they were first partnered up in competitive dance together in 2009 when she was 15 and he was 23. In 2014, the couple married.

Us confirmed in November 2022 that the pair are expecting their first child together.

Val Chmerkovskiy and Jenna Johnson

Although Chmerkovskiy was part of the Dancing With the Stars family since season 2, he didn't meet Johnson until she joined season 18 in 2014. After an on-off relationship, the duo announced their engagement in 2018 and tied the knot in April 2019.

They confirmed that they are expecting their first child in July 2022. The couple announced in January 2023 that their son had arrived.

Derek Hough and Hayley Erbert

The Dancing With the Stars judge met Erbert when she was cast as one of the dancers on his and sister Julianne Hough’s tour in 2014. The following year they became an item. Their relationship blossomed even more once Erbert was a troop dancer on DWTS in 2016 and Derek was a pro.

While Derek is now a judge on the Disney+ series — and Erbert only appears on the show to dance with her beau from time to time — the couple is still going strong. In June 2022, the pair confirmed they are engaged.

Britt Stewart and Daniel Durant

The CODA actor and the choreographer — who met after being paired up on season 31 in 2022 — debuted their romance via Instagram in February 2023. "My Valentine. ♥️ Happy Valentine's Day!” Durant captioned a photo of Stewart posing with her arms around him.
