Sharna Burgess

Sharna Burgess is an Australian ballroom dancer and choreographer best known for her role as a professional dancer on Dancing With the Stars. Burgess was born in New South Wales, Australia, where she began training in ballet, jazz and gymnastics at age 5 before taking up ballroom dancing at 8. She later represented Australia at the World Championships and performed at the closing ceremony of the 2000 Sydney Olympics at age 15.

Burgess moved to London at 18 to pursue dance and later toured internationally with Burn the Floor, including a Broadway run in 2009. She joined Dancing With the Stars as a troupe member in 2011 before becoming a professional dancer in 2013.

Burgess won the season 27 mirrorball trophy in 2018 with Bobby Bones. Throughout her time on the show, she has also partnered with Nick Carter, James Hinchcliffe, Noah Galloway and Brian Austin Green on the show. She also served as a judge on one season of the Australian version of DWTS. After not being asked to return for season 28 of DWTS, Burgess took a five-year hiatus from the show. In 2026, she revealed she would be returning to the DWTS stage for season 35.

Burgess dated dancer Paul Kirkland from 2010 to 2015 before beginning a relationship with former dance partner Green in 2020. The couple welcomed son Zane Walker Green in 2022 and announced their engagement in September the following year.
