Brian Austin Green got real about his mental health highs and lows while navigating a hard couple of days amid fiancée Sharna Burgess’ return to Dancing With the Stars.
“It is 9:05 p.m. I am at the mall by myself. I’m gonna watch a movie by myself,” Green, 53, shared in a somber Instagram video posted Saturday, September 26. “[I] just haven’t had a good couple of days, and I think it’s important to share that.”
The Beverly Hills, 90210, alum noted, “We have a lot of great days, and then some days you have not so much. But we persevere, you know. We get through it. It’ll be OK.”
As Green sat outside alone, he told his fans, “I just wanted to share with everyone that life does not stop f***ing lifing. It is unpredictable. It is challenging. Welcome to it. We all have these days, but we can be OK.”
The actor, who shares son Zane, 4, with Burgess, 41, concluded his video by wishing everyone a good weekend.
“Solo movie night to ‘heart of the beast’. 🤷🏻♂️Trust that life gets hard for everyone sometimes. You’ll be ok❤️,” Green captioned the post.

The Hollywood Hells star received an outpouring of love and support on his upload, and he was quick to thank his followers for being a bright light.
“Thank you all for the kind words,” he wrote in the comments section. “I’m reminded daily that life is a crazy roller coaster. What’s in our control is who we choose to be during it. It always gets better 😊.”
Green gave an additional update on his mental state the next morning in a second video, which he captioned, “September is National Suicide Prevention month!! With the sunrise comes a new day. Thank you for reaching out and caring.”
In the Sunday, September 27, clip, Green was visibly more upbeat as he walked around his backyard and took in the “beautiful” sky.
“Hey everybody. It’s Sunday morning. Yesterday, last night, not a great one for me as you’ve seen,” he began the Instagram video before pointing up to the clouds. “But, look at this. The sun always rises. It always rises. And I feel exponentially better today.”
The “Oldish” podcast cohost admitted he “fell asleep” during the movie and left early, noting he was feeling much better since then.

“My God, we all go through it sometimes, all of us,” Green — who has been engaged to Burgess since 2023 — said. “The difference is when you hang in there, when you stick through it, the sun rises the next morning. Things change, feelings change, situations change.”
He ended the message by thanking “everyone who reached out to make sure I was OK. I really appreciate it.”
While Green didn’t explicitly mention why he was feeling down over the weekend, some fans wondered if it could be because Burgess is busy on DWTS and therefore Green has been spending more time solo — or with their son. (Green also shares sons Noah, 13, Bodhi, 12, and Journey, 10, with ex-wife Megan Fox as well as son Kassius, 24, with ex Vanessa Marcil.)
Burgess, for her part, shared a poignant message about mental health on Saturday during a brief break from the competition.
“DWTS has taught me so much about pushing myself, but I’ve also learned how important it is to take care of my mental health along the way,” she captioned the Instagram video, sitting outside her and Green’s home before the kids got back from school. (The video most likely was filmed on Friday, September 25.)
Burgess explained that through therapy, she’s been able to better juggle her career and home life.
“Having someone to talk to and work through things with has been such an important part of my journey🤍,” she added.
