With all the romantic tension within the cast of E!’s Famously Single, the “single” part of the show’s title is starting to become obsolete. On the Tuesday, July 5, episode, we got to witness Aubrey O’Day’s jealousy escalate after her new beau, DJ Pauly D, participated in a blind date exercise for the show.
Calum Asks Out Brandi, Says He Would Move to the U.S. for Her
The episode started off with Calum Best giving Brandi Glanville a huge bouquet of flowers for her birthday. Brandi later told Dr. Darcy Sterling, “I like him … I don’t know what I’m doing.” After squashing their drama from the prior episode — Calum got jealous over Brandi dancing with other men — he popped the question. The sexy Brit asked her, “How would you feel if I took you out on a date?” Brandi responded, “I would love that.”
When Brandi tried to make a joke about how it won’t go anywhere because Calum’s heading back to England after the show, he insisted, “I’ll stay!” Whoa, could a serious romance be brewing here? Watch out, Aubly D (Pauly and Aubrey’s couple name that I JUST COINED)!
Aubrey Sabotages Pauly’s Date
Later in this week’s challenge, the celebs were paired up to be each other’s “dating coaches.” Each duo was equipped with microphones and hidden earbuds to wear while on blind dates with strangers. Stolen from a bad sitcom plot maybe … but it made for some good drama. When Aubrey found out that Somaya Reece was paired with Pauly, she cornered the Love & Hip Hop star and said, “I need you to make sure Pauly stays single.” Somaya agreed to discourage the Jersey Shore alum from enjoying his date.
Josh Murray Gets Naughty on His Blind Date
When Brandi picked former Bachelorette winner Josh Murray as her partner, she criticized his pickiness in dating, saying, “If it doesn’t meet his checklist, he’s out.” When it was time for Josh to sit down with his date, the former Real Housewife of Beverly Hills decided to shake things up for the usually buttoned-up perfectionist. The first thing she made him say was, “Are you into threesomes? … Foursomes?”
She later made him claim, “I’ve had sex with three girls in one day.” While Josh got red in the face, he later admitted about his date, “It was fun. It really was a good time.” After the dates were over, Brandi told the group, “Josh got to be a little bit naughty without it affecting him being perfection.”
Aubrey Disses Her Date
Aubrey’s date immediately tanked when she realized the guy she was set up with had “F–k Fame” tattooed on his knuckles. She slammed him immediately, saying, “That probably means you shouldn’t be on a date with a famous person.” She then dissed his drink choice, calling it “girly.”
Meanwhile, on Pauly’s date, Somaya (in Pauly’s ear) kept criticizing how “boring” his date was. After only a few short topics of conversation, Aubrey’s dutiful foot soldier told the DJ to end the date. Before ditching his lovely blonde date, Pauly did manage to get her digits.
Aubrey Asks Pauly To Delete His Date’s Number
After the dates were over, Pauly jokingly told Aubrey that his date was a “bootleg” version of her. She did not like hearing this comparison and immediately went on the offensive and asked if Pauly had deleted her number. He admitted that it was still saved in his phone. He then told the cameras in a confessional, “I’m starting to develop a vibe with Aubrey, but … I’m learning how to date.” Looks like a series that is focused on teaching celebrities how to date might not work if they’re all dating each other!
