“I don’t think I’ve ever been as scared in my life as I was to be extraordinarily honest with my kids,” Bruce Jenner confesses in the first promo for Keeping Up With the Kardashians: About Bruce. As revealed last week, the E! special — a prelude to a limited series airing this summer — will document his famous family’s emotional reaction to his gender transition.
The first commercial for the two-part special features touching home movies of the Kardashian-Jenner clan growing up, with audio of the family discussing Bruce’s coming out as a transgender woman.
“These are my secrets that I have to deal with on my own,” Bruce says. “We want to understand his struggle,” says Kim, 34, seen as a happy young girl in flashback clips.
Things get even more intense when Kendall Jenner speaks up. “I do want to meet her when he is ready — when we’re both ready,” she says, before the most heartbreaking moment of all. Youngest Jenner child Kylie chokes up as she confesses, “I just don’t like it when people say Bruce is going to be gone.”
“I’m not going anywhere,” Bruce tells his daughter before he is shown embracing Khloe Kardashian and Kendall in a tearful hug.
