Reintroductions! Lamar Odom meets Caitlyn Jenner for the first time in a preview for the upcoming Sunday, May 8, episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
In the clip, Khloé Kardashian reveals that her ex Odom, 36, is apprehensive about coming face-to-face with his former father-in-law as a woman. “Lamar is really nervous about meeting Caitlyn,” the Strong Looks Better Naked author, 31, tells her hair and makeup team.
The former NBA player was in the hospital for almost three months after a nearly fatal incident in October where he was found unconscious in a Nevada brothel. He then spent several weeks in a private rehab facility before making his first public appearance at Kanye West’s Yeezy Season 3 Fashion Week show at Madison Square Garden in NYC on February 11.
Prior to his hospitalization, the former Lakers player hadn’t been spending time around the Kardashian-Jenner family, so the fashion event marked the first time Odom had seen Jenner since her transition. In the preview of their initial meeting, they sit around a table in their Yeezy outfits, and Jenner says, “Life’s good, isn’t it?” Odom simply responds, “Beautiful.”
In the first KUWTK episode of season 12, the Kocktails With Khloé host helped Odom fix up his new house before leaving for a press trip. “I love Lamar, and we’ve been through so much,” she said. “But there’s so much more that has to be resolved. There’s a lot of hurt and things that need to be fixed.” The two stars married in 2009 after just one month of dating, and she filed for divorce in 2013. Rumors swirled of a reconciliation between the former couple after Kardashian dismissed the divorce case amid Odom’s health scare, but sources previously confirmed to Us Weekly that she plans to file for divorce again very soon.
