Appearing in the upcoming Furious 7, Ludacris was asked by Elle about his role in the 2011 romantic comedy New Year’s Eve, and if he has a favorite film in the genre.

Born Christopher Bridges, Luda may be using the inspirational fashion flick to bond with his 13-year-old daughter Karma. He told Elle that he hopes to teach the young woman “independence” and “striving for excellence.”

“Her schedule is damn near busier than mine,” he added of the middle schooler. “She’ll have piano one day and acting another day and dance another day… The number-one thing I try to get across is we’re in a digital age where it’s cool to be on your iPhone all the time. So all of those activities I mentioned are about getting her away from that. People are on video games and their phones, and it’s taking up all their mental space.”

While the “Move Bitch” performer has reformed a bit to become the chick flick-watching family man that he is today, he is still Ludacris. When asked by Elle what his ex-girlfriends would say about him, the rapper joked, “Man, how explicit can we get in an interview?” before adding, “They would say a factual thing. They would all attest to one thing. And that would be the anatomy. I call it The Truth. Cause you can’t handle The Truth!”
