Miley Cyrus seemingly offered advice to her younger sister, Noah Cyrus, on her new song “Innocent Ways.”

“I want better for my sister / She calls me only when it’s late night, and she’s high,” Miley, 33, begins the song, which dropped Friday, September 18, on her new record, Bass Persuades. “Her mind is spinning, ugh / Eight nights in a row / She’s been in a crisis / She looks just like me, yeah, when she cries / Now that we’re both older, ugh.”

She continues, “I tried to save all of her innocent ways / Grace comes with age, but don’t tell her / Fall out from the fame, claim my mother’s maiden name / Lips in crimson shades, how I love her.”

Miley and Noah, 26, are the two daughters of exes Billy Ray Cyrus and Tish Cyrus, who also share son Braison, 32. (Billy Ray, 65, also adopted Tish’s eldest children from a previous relationship, Brandi, 39, and Trace, 37, upon their marriage. The country singer also shares son Christopher, 34, with ex Kristin Luckey.)

Miley and Noah were famously close with their entire brood growing up. The family, however, was briefly estranged following Billy Ray and Tish’s divorce but have since mended fences.

“I made the error / I kinda caved when I know better / I should’ve never sent that letter / But I was wired and in my feelings,” Miley adds on the track. “I wonder / If she went and changed her number / I tried to call her three times over / Is she all right? It keeps on ringing.”

Miley has not publicly revealed her muse for “Innocent Ways,” a song about the lessons that the Grammy winner has learned through the years.

“One of my lyrics in there is that ‘grace comes with age.’ Like, I never knew that,” Miley said during a Thursday, September 17, Apple Music interview. “You can’t tell a young person that when you’re older, you’re going to understand something that you don’t understand now.”

Miley further noted that kids often have a sense of amazement for the world that is “how [she wants] every day” to feel as an adult.

“What I have, I couldn’t imagine … what promise is on that other side that’s going to make my life any better,” she continued at the time. “I also don’t know how we can measure success in today’s world. That’s one of the things I like about the new way, and I noticed that, with this album, success looks different. It’s not about a number anymore.”

Bass Persuades is out now.
