He's got it, dude! Perez Hilton will be stepping into some big shoes this summer, when he takes on the role of TV dad Danny Tanner.
The celeb blogger, 37, revealed in an interview with Howard Stern on Tuesday, June 23, that he will be playing Bob Saget's character in the upcoming debut production of Full House: The Musical!
"I'm really excited to announce… It's really exciting for me, I'm going to be playing Bob Saget, basically, in a musical!" Hilton explained on SiriusXM's Howard Stern Show. "There's a new musical based on Full House called Full House: The Musical!… We're starting in Toronto in late August and coming to New York City in September."
"Yeah, I'm singing in it… I've been working with this amazing vocal coach named Liz Caplan for a few years," the father of two continued. "It's going to be off-Broadway in New York City at a theater on St. Mark's Place. In Toronto, we're playing a big theater, 500 seats!"
Also a National Lampoon production, Full House: The Musical! will replace the Saved by the Bell parody Bayside! The Musical! at the lower Manhattan playhouse. The musical take on the beloved '90s sitcom includes multiple Bayside! alums, such as Seth Blum (Uncle Joey) and Amanda Nichols (D.J. Tanner).
Actress Marguerite Halcovage will play Stephanie Tanner, while Marshall Louise will take on Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's shared part of Michelle Tanner. Stepping into the role of Uncle Jesse is actor John Duff, who also did a stint at Bayside.
"I haven't met him yet, cause we haven't began rehearsals," Hilton told Stern of Duff. "But I've seen him in other shows before and he's really talented."
