Dorit Kemsley has thoughts about her Real Housewives of Beverly Hills feud with Camille Grammer continuing to have legs.
“She resuscitated that until it was just — I mean, talk about beating a dead horse,” Dorit, 49, told Us Weekly exclusively while promoting her new memoir, Unburdened, noting that their now-infamous RHOBH moment will live on “forever and ever.”
During RHOBH season 8, which aired in 2017, Dorit called Camille a “stupid c***” during a cast dinner party. While Dorit has continued to maintain it was a joke — even writing about the moment in her memoir — Camille has brought it up several times over the years.
During season 14, which aired in 2024, Camille appeared on the show once again and the conversation returned to her past clash with Dorit.
“I think, for Camille, she’s always wanted to be in the spotlight,” Dorit explained. “I think sometimes when someone like that is looking to be relevant, or see their name in a headline, they attach themselves to something that’s easy.”

Dorit reflected on their season 14 fight, claiming that Camilla was “trying to ruffle feathers” amid her return.
“She caught me in the wrong moment. This was like, ‘OK, listen, you are really going too far. Really, what did I do?’ It was one drunken moment that was a joke,” Dorit said. “I apologized. How many times? Really, how many times can you take that pony for a ride? It’s embarrassing at this point.”
In her book, Dorit called the Camille moment one of her “early lessons” as a Housewife.
“It’s not my finest hour — but Camille has kept it in circulation for so long I’m surprised she hasn’t framed it and hung it in her foyer,” Dorit wrote in the book, noting that she was very “relaxed” during that particular dinner after two tequila drinks.
“I didn’t know Camille deeply then, but I knew her well enough to think a bit of joking around wouldn’t land badly,” Dorit explained. “Unfortunately, what came out wasn’t cheeky. It was crude. Unnecessary. And not funny. I called her a ‘stupid c***.’ The second it left my mouth, I felt it. That internal drop. The instant awareness that you’ve said something you can’t dress up, can’t finesse, can’t pretend you didn’t mean — even if you meant it as a joke.”
Because of the show, Dorit’s comment didn’t “disappear” and it was brought up the next day.
“I didn’t dodge it. I told the truth. It had been a stupid attempt at humor from someone who was hot, tired, and had drunk more tequila than she should have,” she wrote. “Joke or not, the language was ugly, and it wasn’t how I wanted to speak about anyone. So I apologized.”
Dorit’s biggest surprise was “how long the moment lived” — and continues to live.
“It followed me through the season, into the reunion, and years later it could resurface like it happened last week,” she added.
Unburdened is out now.
