'The Cheetah Girls' Original Cast: Where Are They Now? Raven-Symone, Adrienne Bailon and More

The Cheetah Girls delivered plenty of growl power to Disney Channel viewers in the early 2000s, spawning two sequels, multiple live concerts and even a next-generation spinoff.

Adapted from Deborah Gregory’s novels of the same name, The Cheetah Girls follows high schoolers Galleria (Raven-Symoné), Chanel (Adrienne Bailon-Houghton), Aquanetta (Kiely Williams) and Dorinda (Sabrina Bryan), who made up an aspiring girl group pursuing the bright lights of fame in New York City and beyond.

The debut movie musical, produced by the late Whitney Houston, premiered in August 2003 followed by The Cheetah Girls 2 in 2006 and The Cheetah Girls: One World (sans Symoné) in 2008. News broke in July 2026 that Symoné, Bailon-Houghton, Bryan and Cheetah mamas Lynn Whitfield and Lori Anne Alter would all reprise their cheetah-licious roles in a “next gen” sequel.

Raven-Symone (Galleria Garibaldi)

After playing pint-size Olivia on The Cosby Show, Symoné appeared on Disney Channel’s Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century before starring on her own Mouse House show, That’s So Raven and its Raven’s Home spinoff. Symoné only appeared in the first two Cheetah Girls movies, also opting out of joining her costars on a live tour. She is set to reprise her role in 2026’s The Cheetah Girls: Next Gen, where Leah Sava’ Jeffries will portray her onscreen daughter.

In her personal life, Symoné married Miranda Pearman-Maday in June 2020. They jointly host their “Tea Time” podcast.

Adrienne Bailon-Houghton (Chanel Simmons)

Bailon-Houghton was a member of real-life girl group 3LW alongside Cheetah Girls costar Williams and fellow actress Naturi Naughton. In the years since the Disney series wrapped, Bailon-Houghton has acted in the likes of Lovestruck: The Musical, Chef’s Kiss and Symoné’s Raven’s Home. She also served as a cohost on The Real from 2013 to 2022.

Bailon-Houghton dated Rob Kardashian from 2007 to 2009 during the heyday of her Cheetah Girls fame. She had a six-year relationship with music executive Lenny Santiago before she moved on with Israel Houghton. Bailon-Houghton tied the knot with the gospel singer in November 2016. The married couple welcomed son Ever via surrogate in August 2022.

Kiely Williams (Aquanetta 'Aqua' Walker)

A fellow member of 3LW, Williams played the Southern belle of the Cheetah Girls group. Her credits include The House Bunny, Elle: A Modern Cinderella Tale, Stomp the Yard 2: Homecoming and Holla II.

Williams married husband Brandon Cox in December 2016, welcoming daughter Rowan two years later in March 2018. Son Archer followed in March 2022.

Sabrina Bryan (Dorinda Thomas)

After dancing her way through The Cheetah Girls, Bryan competed on Dancing With the Stars season 5 and season 15. She later appeared in The Next Dance, I Think My Babysitter Is an Alien and A Deadly Dance. In 2024, Bryan began hosting the “Magical Rewind” podcast with Boy Meets World alum Will Friedle to recap throwback DCOMs. Bryan will dust off her dancing shoes in 2026 for Next Gen.

Bryan married Jordan Lundberg in October 2018, welcoming daughter Comillia in August 2020 and son Ledger Grey in May 2023.

Lynn Whitfield (Dorothea Garibaldi)

The iconic actress portrayed Symoné’s onscreen mother in the first two Cheetah Girls films and will reprise her role in Next Gen. After playing the momager, Whitfield appeared in the likes of The Chi, Strung, Vacation Friends, Nappily Ever After, Mistresses, Hit the Floor, among others.

Lynn was married to Vantile Whitfield from 1974 to 1978 and Brian Gibson from 1990 to 1992. Lynn and Gibson welcomed daughter Grace in 1991.

Lori Anne Alter (Juanita Simmons)

Alter played Chanel’s mom in the first two movies, and she is also planning to return for Next Gen. Her post-Cheetah credits include The Lojo Show, Make Your Move, House at the End of the Street, She’s the Mayor and Family Biz.

Alter has been married to William Laurin since 2003 and they share two children.

Kyle Schmid (Derek)

Who could forget Derek, the long-haired musician crushing on Galleria in the first flick? Derek was brought to life by Schmid, who famously played Alex Thompson in the DCOM Alley Cats Strike before becoming a Cheetah love interest. He later appeared in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, Beautiful People, Blood Ties, Copper, Being Human, Six and Big Sky. He most recently played Mike Franks on NCIS: Origins.

Schmid married DC’s Legends of Tomorrow costar Caity Lotz in February 2023. They welcomed daughter Lennox in September 2024 and son William in February 2026.
