Save room for dessert! Costco is known for selling things that are much larger than they need to be (case in point: This wine glass that’s nearly 4-feet tall) and now the big-box retailer is offering massive sweets.
Appropriately named the “Colossal Cookie,” Costco’s latest dessert offering is actually two humongous cookies that weigh a total of nearly three pounds (2.75 pounds, to be exact,) meaning each individual treat clocks in at nearly 1.5 pounds.
The sweet course is described on the box as a “large, soft and chewy cookie featuring decadent chocolate chunks,” and is made with real butter, eggs, and chocolate. Since it’s so big, however, the cookie, which can be found in Costco’s freezer section and retails for $7.99, takes about 10 minutes to heat up before it can be served.
Not surprisingly, sweets lovers across the country are eager to get their hands on this super-sized food item. As many noted, digging into a Colossal Cookie would be the perfect way to end any upcoming holiday meals. “I am boggled. And I need it in my belly now,” one fan wrote on Instagram. Added another: “Are we supposed to bring something to Thanksgiving? Because I propose that we bring this!”
What’s more? One Costco shopper – who was apparently lucky enough to get a taste of this monster – confirms it’s worthy of all the hype. “I’ve had it (they had samples at my store last week) and it’s EVERYTHING!” the customer commented.
However, a Costco representative tells Delish it might be a bit difficult to track down the Colossal Cookie, because it’s currently only available in some regions. But if you do get your hands on one of these puppies, you better buy plenty of milk to wash it down with!
