Don’t let go! Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg – a.k.a. the duo we didn’t know we needed – are gearing up for a new season of their cooking show, Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party. However, this season, which is called Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Party Challenge, puts a competitive twist on the original program, which first premiered in 2016.
An LOL-worthy promo for the latest season of the VH1 hit dropped on Monday, March 25, and it features 77-year-old Stewart and Snoop, 47, recreating an iconic scene from Titanic … with a food-centric twist.
The teaser starts with the lifestyle maven standing in a kitchen at sunset looking wistfully into the distance as the unmistakable melody from “My Heart Will Go On” begins to play in the background.
“How splendid to see you, Martha,” Snoop says as he enters, only to be shushed by the Martha Bakes star. Stewart then grabs her costar and stands behind him a la Rose and Jack on the bow of that ill-fated ship. The rapper extends his arms out at his sides (just like Kate Winslet did in the 1997 movie) and pretends to be flying through the air.
As Celine Dion belts out the chorus of the classic tune, the camera pans down to reveal the pair are standing at a ship-like kitchen island, making fries. When Stewart tells Snoop to open his eyes, he places the potato pieces in the fryer and says, “I’m frying. Martha, I’m frying!” – a food-focused take on Winslet’s memorable “I’m flying” line.
The teaser ends with text stating Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Party Challenge is slated to premiere on Wednesday, April 3. The first episode of the season will feature Matthew McConaughey and Method Man battling it out to create the best 4/20 munchies. Wedding Crashers star Isla Fisher serves as judge.
Subsequent episodes (for which premiere dates have yet to be announced) will feature famous competitors such as Tiffany Haddish, Meghan Trainor, Octavia Spencer, Fergie and Nick, Joe and Kevin Jonas.
Tune into Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party on VH1 on Wednesday, April 3, at 10 p.m. ET.
